Harry and Meghan arrived to cheers from a crowd of around 100 people at 10:35 a.m. local time, taking about 15 minutes to make their way inside the Community Recording Studio (CRS) as they stopped to greet well-wishers. The couple shook hands and crouched down to chat with young schoolchildren, while Meghan was presented with bouquets of flowers and a helium-filled balloon. “It’s great to be back,” the Duchess of Sussex told one well-wisher. In a particularly fitting moment, one woman showed Meghan a photograph of the couple from their 2017 visit to Nottingham. “That’s so special,” Meghan replied. The warm welcome also included a shout from the crowd of “I love you Duchess Meghan,” as the couple greeted locals. It was in Nottingham that Meghan made her first official royal outing alongside Harry on Dec. 1, 2017, just four days after the couple announced their engagement. During the memorable visit, the newly engaged couple greeted excited well-wishers who had gathered to congratulate them on their upcoming wedding. For Thursday’s outing, Meghan opted for all British designers, wearing a coat, turtleneck and earrings by luxury fashion brand Joseph. She teamed the outfit with a The Fold London skirt, and completed the look with a pair of Jennifer Chamandi shoes. In another full-circle fashion moment, Meghan also wore a skirt by Joseph during her visit to Nottingham in 2017. Prince Harry and Meghan started their visit at The Community Recording Studio (CRS), a charity established in 1991 to give young people access to music and recording facilities. It now offers a broader range of creative activities, sport, mentoring and youth development. At CRS, Prince Harry met musician, poet and youth mentor Jah Digga, who attended CRS as a child and has spoken about how its support helped him move away from gang involvement. Meanwhile, Meghan joined young girls for a confidence-building and bracelet-making workshop. Rose said the news of Meghan’s visit had an especially powerful impact on the young women involved with the center. “There’s a lot of young females in here and they need people who understand them,” he explained, adding that Meghan had specifically asked about the young people’s activities and the challenges they face. “To say to them that she’s coming here to meet you — they were speechless,” he said. “I’ve seen a few tears in people’s eyes.” The couple also observed an acting workshop led by professional actor André Squire, highlighting the value of creative opportunities in developing young people’s skills and confidence. Later in the day, the couple will visit Epic Partners, an organization that supports children and families through youth work, sport, mentoring and education. Harry’s relationship with Epic began following his 2013 visit to the community, which led to “Full Effect,” a partnership between Epic and CRS supported by The Royal Foundation from 2013 to 2020. The program combined community-based support and school interventions with music and creative activities. The Royal Foundation itself has a history closely tied to Harry and his older brother, Prince William. The siblings established the charitable organization in 2009 as The Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry. After Kate Middleton joined following her 2011 marriage to William, it became The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry. Meghan later joined the foundation following her marriage to Harry in 2018. Just months before their wedding, Meghan joined Harry, William and Kate onstage at the inaugural Royal Foundation Forum in February 2018, marking the foursome’s first joint official engagement. During the memorable appearance, the two couples discussed their shared charitable ambitions, with Harry even joking about the challenges of working together as a family — a moment that takes on new significance given the brothers’ now-strained relationship. But their professional partnership did not last. Harry and Meghan split from The Royal Foundation in 2019 to establish their own charitable organization, while William and Kate continued their work through the foundation. During the couple’s December 2017 visit to Nottingham Academy, Meghan met young people supported by Full Effect before returning separately to spend time with Epic’s girls’ nurture group. Leonora Ncomanzi, one of the young people she mentored, was later invited to the couple’s wedding celebrations. Harry’s $1.5 million donation to BBC Children in Need, announced last year during his visit to Nottingham, is helping to support CRS’s capacity and redevelopment as well as Epic’s work with young people affected by adverse childhood experiences. Launched in November 2025, the pilot was supporting 45 young people across seven schools by March 2026, providing mentoring, classroom assistance and behavior support to improve educational engagement and reduce the risks of exclusion and exploitation. Prince Harry and Meghan’s second stop of the day will be to Himmah Hub, a food poverty community action group. There, Meghan will reunite with some of the women the Duchess of Sussex supported at the Hubb Community Kitchen, a group that came together to prepare food for their community after being displaced following the Grenfell Tower fire in 2017. One of Meghan’s first projects as a member of the royal family was to collaborate with the women on a charity cookbook. Nearly two months after moving back to the U.K. with their children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, the outing in Nottingham marked Meghan’s first official engagement, while Prince Harry has made several solo appearances, many in support of the Invictus Games.
